The Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed a new superseding indictment from a grand jury against the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), alleging millions of dollars were secretly funneled to extremist groups.<\/p>\n

According to Just the News,\u00a0 the indictment alleges the SPLC used $4.1 million in tax-exempt donations to pay individuals inside extremist organizations and influence members to join hate groups.<\/p>\n

DOJ issues indictment against the dark money laundering operation, Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).<\/p>\n

The SPLC got caught taking money from donors to stage hate crimes and was really funding the same hate it claimed to fight.<\/p>\n

\nThe superseding indictment does not contain new charges from those made by the DOJ in April but retains those charges while expanding on the alleged misconduct.<\/p>\n

Fox News reports the new indictment alleges that the SPLC \u201csecretly funneled\u201d more than $3 million in donor funds between 2014 and 2023 to individuals associated with extremist organizations, including the Ku Klux Klan, United Klans of America, the National Socialist Movement, participants in the Unite the Right rally, and the Aryan Nations-affiliated Sadistic Souls Motorcycle Club.<\/p>\n

The indictment reads: \u201cThe SPLC\u2019s paid informants (field sources) engaged in the active promotion of racist groups at the same time that the SPLC was denouncing the same groups on its website.\u201d<\/p>\n

The DOJ alleges that between 2010 and 2013, SPLC donations were used to organize meetings with members of extremist groups, create racist paraphernalia, and publish extremist literature.<\/p>\n

In a social media post on Wednesday, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) wrote, \u201cSo what you\u2019re telling me is that the very org who claimed to be \u2018fighting hate\u2019 was the one perpetuating it?\u201d<\/p>\n

The SPLC has denied all the allegations and is accusing the DOJ of improperly sharing the superseding indictment with media before it was unsealed by the court.<\/p>\n

Mike Zamora, national director of policy at the American Civil Liberties Union, downplayed the indictment, saying, \u201cThe manufactured outrage against SPLC at both the Department of Justice (DOJ) and in Congress are just the latest examples of the Trump administration and its allies turning the power of the government on people and organizations that they see as opposition.\u201d<\/p>\n

If the SPLC is convicted of offenses related to the allegations, it will be required to forfeit all assets connected to the individuals described in the filing.<\/p>\n
