President Trump praised the Supreme Court in a statement Tuesday, despite the Court\u2019s decision striking down his executive order on Birthright Citizenship. Trump stated on Truth Social \u201cwe will work to correct\u201d the decision in Congress, but added \u201cthe Republican Party was treated very fairly by the United States Supreme Court.\u201d<\/p>\n

The president was especially pleased with Monday\u2019s decision, which gave him the authority to remove Federal Trade commissioners (FTC) at will.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe biggest and most consequential Decision issued by the Court, by far, is the Slaughter Case, which overturned the very famous Humphrey\u2019s Executor Rule,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

\n

This whole concept of \u201cPower\u201d has been fought over for nearly 100 years, going all the way back to Franklin Delanor Roosevelt, where a large slice of his Power was taken away. He fought to regain it, even wanting to \u201cpack the Court,\u201d but was unsuccessful in doing so. This Decision gives tremendous additional Power back to the Presidency, where it belongs. It is an Honor to be the sitting President who, after all these years, WON this very important, and hard fought, Case. We had other good Victories, too, and we also had the Birthright Citizenship loss, which we will work to correct in Congress, but the big SLAUGHTER, was SLAUGHTER. The Republican Party was treated very fairly by the United States Supreme Court. Thank you for your attention to this matter!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In a separate post, Trump congratulated the president of China on his \u201cmassive Birthright Citizenship WIN!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to congratulate President Xi, and the Great Country of China, on their massive Birthright Citizenship WIN!\u201d Trump stated sarcastically.<\/p>\n

Multiple bills have been introduced by Congressional Republicans to address the Birthright Citizenship issue, most notably, the Birthright Citizenship Act, which was introduced by Rep. Brian Babin (R-Texas) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) in January 2025.\u00a0 The legislation seeks to end or sharply restrict automatic birthright citizenship by amending the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).<\/p>\n

Other key bills include Sen. Marsha Blackburn\u2019s (R-Tenn.) which amends the INA to deem such visitors inadmissible on B visas,\u201d and Sen. John Cornyn\u2019s (R-Texas) (2026), which imposes criminal penalties on facilitators for fraud and organized schemes while creating a dedicated enforcement task force,\u201d Just the News<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) earlier this year introduced<\/p>\n

\u201cUnder current interpretations of American law, anyone born on American soil automatically becomes a U.S. citizen, regardless of whether the parent was here legally or not. This is wrong and not at all the intent of those who wrote the 14th Amendment,\u201d Paul said in a statement posted on X back in April.<\/p>\n

\n

We are a country filled with immigrants, and legal immigration is valuable and should be protected. But we are also a country whose borders have been too open and our generosity exploited too often. President Trump has moved to seal our border from illegal immigrants more than any other president.<\/p>\n

But we will have more to do.<\/p>\n

We need to make sure that only children born to legal residents of the U.S. are automatically citizens. I have supported protecting birthright citizenship from abuse since the beginning of my tenure in the Senate, when I cosponsored the Birthright Citizenship Act of 2011, and now I am proposing an amendment to protect United States citizenship in case the Supreme Court fails to address this issue correctly.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Migration Policy Institute has estimated that up to 26,000 babies are born in the United States annually as a result of birth tourism.<\/p>\n
