The lone, holdout juror who voted to find Lindsay Clancy guilty of murder was a black male in his 30s, juror Paula Devlin revealed on “CBS Mornings” Friday.

The rest of the jury sided with the defense, which argued Clancy, 36, was not criminally responsible when she strangled her three children—Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and Callan, 8 months—in the basement of their Massachusetts home in January 2023, because she was in the throes of postpartum psychosis.
The holdout agreed with the prosecutors, who argued the murders were premeditated.
The jury was composed of nine women and three men, with ages ranging from 22 to about 70, Devlin told “CBS Mornings” host Gayle King.

Devlin added that there was only “person of color” on the jury and the rest were white.
King asked her if the “person of color” was a woman or a man, and Devlin responded that he was a man.
Slightly flustered, King asked “is the holdout juror a person of—a black man?!
“Yes,” Devlin responded.
“A black man is the holdout juror?” King asked again.
“Yes,” Devlin again responded.
“Well! I’ll have to sit with that for just a second,” King said.
Devlin described the deliberations as tense, with the majority leaning toward “not responsible” from the start, but the holdout refusing to change his mind. She said the jurors spent several days trying to convince him, but he “would not budge” and seemed to feel attacked when challenged.
