Two minutes of hate:
Our court system, captured long ago by the progressive legal movement, continues to thwart all efforts to secure our election system.  A second federal judge has blocked the administration’s new Postal Service requirements for mail ballots, including rules requiring states to obtain federal approval for ballot-envelope designs and upload voter information through a portal that reportedly is not yet fully operational. The Supreme Court is separately considering the administration’s emergency appeal of another injunction. The left is smart, I always remind people they are evil, not dumb. All they had to do is drag this out until it was too late to make any changes to the system.

If you pay attention to the many information operations populating X and other social media platforms and “news” rooms, you’ve probably noticed tsunami of articles and X posts wailing and lamenting about the dangers of artificial intelligence. Case in point: Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei’s call to deliberately slow frontier AI development has gained backing from figures including Sam Altman, Elon Musk and Demis Hassabis. Amodei is even proposing something resembling U.S.-China “disarmament” talks over particularly dangerous AI capabilities. Look, it’s either going to be the U.S. or China dominating the AI space. You pick which one. It seems to me the kerfuffle isn’t as much about the dangers of AI, it’s about who in the U.S. will control AI: the tech assholes who censored people over wrongthink opinions on the election and covid, simple open-source development/a free-for-all or is the government going to regulate it. Slowing down is the dumbest option.

Trump publicly urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to stop attacks on Russian oil refineries and diesel infrastructure, arguing that the strikes are contributing to a worldwide fuel shortage. U.S. diesel prices have climbed above $6 a gallon on average, while Ukraine’s attacks have forced Russia to restrict exports at the same time that the Iran conflict is choking Gulf energy supplies.

Here’s a shocker: House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said Sunday that Democrats “haven’t ruled anything in and we haven’t ruled anything out” when asked whether they would pursue impeachment if they win the House in November. Jeffries emphasized affordability and other legislative priorities but declined to promise that impeachment would be off the table. Does anyone think the Democrats have any other priorities beyond punishing their political enemies? Of course not. They want the investigative powers they would be granted if they win the House and they are coming for their opponents. Impeachment and political retribution is on the ballot in November.
