U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has announced an “unprecedented fraud crackdown” in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Duffy, in a post on X, said there would be “unprecedented fraud crackdown” announcement on Monday.

In his social media post, Duffy tagged Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Department of Justice and the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, suggesting a multi-department effort targeting fraud.
Details of Duffy’s announcement were not disclosed including when or where it will take place, what type of fraud will be discussed or whether any arrests have been made, according to Fox News.
The effort is part of the Trump administration’s broader crackdown on fraud, following the establishment of the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud in March to coordinate efforts involving federal benefit programs.
Fox News reports the DOJ has also created a National Fraud Enforcement Division to investigate and prosecute the theft or fraudulent misuse of taxpayer dollars.

According to the Department of Transportation (DOT), it has teamed up in recent months with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to target hundreds of non-compliant or fraudulent commercial driver’s license training schools, removing thousands of providers from the Training Provider Registry.
That crackdown has addressed alleged fraud and safety violations in the commercial trucking industry, including improperly issued commercial driver’s licenses, fraudulent driving schools and unvetted foreign drivers, according to Fox News.
The New York Post reports that Duffy’s Department of Transportation has also worked with DHS to conduct roadside enforcement operations targeting unqualified conducted roadside enforcement operations targeting unqualified foreign commercial drivers.
The administration has also moved to codify strict English language proficiency requirements for commercial motor vehicle drivers.
