Rumors are swirling about woke Texas Senate candidate James Talarico, who has not been seen in public since September 28, when he attended a fundraiser in New York City hosted by lefty actor Robert De Niro. Talarico’s last in-person event in Texas was on Sept. 26.

At least two events have been scrapped, according to the Texarkana Gazette, an Austin fundraiser on Tuesday and a get out the black vote event Monday in Central Texas.
“Jimmy appears to be having a full-blown mental Tala-freak-out on the national stage,” quipped Attorney General Ken Paxton, the Republican nominee for the Texas Senate, on X, Thursday.

Paxton’s campaign is calling for a video of Talarico holding today’s newspaper, his flight information from NYC, and a doctor’s note confirming his reported “flu” diagnosis.
The Austin Democrat’s campaign acknowledged Tuesday that he has been out of commission since being diagnosed with the flu.
“After holding more than 100 public events and shaking tens of thousands of hands, James came down with the flu but will be back on the trail this weekend,” Talarico spokesman JT Ennis said in a statement. “Ken Paxton has been ignoring Texans this entire campaign, and his priorities are clear: he doesn’t answer to the people of this state — he answers to his billionaire megadonors and special interests.”
Talarico is scheduled to headline a CNN town hall Oct. 14.
President Trump could not resist sharing his thoughts on the strange situation on Truth Social, Thursday.
“TalaFREAKo has been missing for 12 days! Now, after looking for him throughout all of Texas, and beyond, probably even weirder places than anyone would think possible,” Trump posted.
12 days is a long time to rid yourself of the so-called flu bug. What’s going on?
We need a Senator that’s a proven Champion like one that has been, without question, the Greatest Attorney General in the History of Texas, and one of the Greatest in the U.S.A. His name is Ken Paxton, and he will never let you down! Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Talarico, 37, first alluded to being sick during a virtual forum sponsored by the United States Hispanic Business Council on September 30.
“I was ready to eat my favorite quesadilla tacos, but I was starting to feel kind of under the weather a few days ago, and last night it got so bad that I went to the urgent care here in Dallas,” he said during the call. “I guess I’ve been shaking too many hands on the campaign trail, and so I want to keep everybody safe,” he added. “The best thing to do was to put safety first and put everyone’s health first.”
The Senate hopeful has gained notoriety for attending a woke, atheistic “Christian” church, claiming “God is nonbinary” and there are six biological sexes, coming out as an anti-meat vegan before claiming to love meat, as well as being a vocal supporter of drag queens, and “transgender youth.”
Additionally, a Talarico campaign worker was recently caught on hidden camera sharing that she and most of her fellow campaign workers are Marxists.
Republicans, already alarmed by Talarico’s radicalism, are questioning the campaign’s official explanation for his extended absence from the campaign trail.
“Talarico has been completely AWOL for like 2 weeks over ‘the flu?’” former Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt posted on X. “Sorry, but that dog don’t hunt. Something weird is going on with this freak…”
Indeed, most people recover from the flu in four to five days.
“Talarico hasn’t eaten meat in years. He’s at least vegan adjacent and his immune system is showing the consequences of his woke diet,” noted TPUSA spokesman Andrew Kolvet. “He’s a weak beta male who gets laid up for two weeks because of a flu. Vote Paxton, Texas men.”
Paxton’s campaign team advanced this same narrative in another post on X.
“MISSING: Michael Jordan played through the flu and won an NBA championship, but Low-T Talarico is too fragile to step out of the shadows with a cough,” Paxton posted. “Last Seen: 12 days ago.”

“I have received unverified information on James Talarico’s whereabouts,” posted Blaze podcaster Sara Gonzales. “If true, it will END his campaign.” Gonzalez said she was seeking further verification before reporting what she’s heard.
