The U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, Bill Essayli, announced Friday that his office is conducting several election fraud investigations in coordination with the FBI due to concerns about the state’s sluggish vote count and the potential of election fraud following Tuesday’s primary.

Essayli stated on X that these efforts are focused on addressing concerns about the integrity of California’s lax election system.
“California’s election system has serious structural vulnerabilities,” Essayli wrote. “Universal vote-by-mail with no voter ID requirements creates conditions where fraud can go undetected and unpunished, eroding public confidence.”
The federal prosecutor said he couldn’t comment on a specific investigation, but confirmed his office is conducting “multiple election fraud investigations” in coordination with FBI Los Angeles.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Renner reportedly toured the county’s ballot processing facility Friday morning, one day after President Trump voiced concern on Truth Social that the “Dumocrats” were trying to steal the governor and LA mayor’s races.
“Look what’s happening in California, the Dumocrats, right before our very eyes, are stealing the Vote,” Trump posted Thursday. “I hope the Republicans are watching so that they can finally pass THE SAVE AMERICA ACT!”
The president added in a subsequent post: “I believe we have the Most Dishonest Elections of any Country, anywhere in the World!”
The New York Post visited LA County’s 144,000-square-foot ballot processing facility Thursday and reported large sections of the operation were “sitting unused despite the substantial backlog.”
During the visit, The Post observed rows of empty chairs, vacant ballot-processing stations and expansive areas of the facility with little visible activity while hundreds of thousands of ballots remained uncounted.
When The Post asked an election center staff member about the rows of unused workstations despite the substantial backlog, the employee insisted reporters should not be “fooled by what you see.”
When pressed to elaborate, however, the staff member offered no further explanation and walked away.

With 60 percent reporting in the governor’s race, Republican Steve Hilton narrowly leads former Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra 27 to 26 percent. Left-wing billionaire Tom Steyer remains in third place with 20.2 percent of the vote.
In the Los Angeles mayoral contest, failed Mayor Karen Bass (D.) currently leads the field with 35 percent, while Republican Spencer Pratt is running second with 29.35 percent.
Woke city councilwoman Nithya Raman has surged to 23.42 percent of the vote and could potentially overtake Pratt as more harvested votes are counted, shutting him out of the November runoff.
LA County Clerk Dean Logan defended the state’s lengthy counting process on Thursday, claiming “every single ballot and batch of ballots undergoes multiple levels of chain-of-custody and security processes.”
Logan previously served as an elected Democrat County Clerk in Washington state, where he played a key role in the rigged 2004 Washington gubernatorial election.
Essayli stated on X Friday that his office will remain vigilant.
“We will follow the evidence wherever it leads and prosecute any violations of federal election law to the fullest extent,” he said.
The prosecutor added that his office is also “working closely” with the Justice Department Civil Rights Division “to conduct a comprehensive audit of California’s voter rolls.”
The state has stonewalled every effort to verify that only eligible U.S. citizens are registered to vote. This case is now before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal.
“My office will not look the other way,” Essayli promised. “We will investigate and prosecute. Every legal vote deserves to be counted. Every illegal vote cancels one out.”
