Breitbart reports that the Planned Parenthood Action Fund announced last week the money will be used to pressure frontline GOP lawmakers in the competitive swing districts in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, New York, and Pennsylvania.
The goal is to force representatives to block any congressional effort to permanently strip dollars from the organization’s health centers.
The new $2 million campaign will reportedly build on an original $1.5 million campaign that was launched in April.
The Hill reports that the campaign will specifically target Reps. Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ), Dave Schweikert (R-AZ), Gabe Evans (R-CO), Bill Huizenga (R-MI), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Tom Barrett (R-MI), Mike Lawler (R-NY), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA), and Ryan Mackenzie (R-PA).
A provision in last year’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act barred Planned Parenthood health centers from receiving Medicaid reimbursements for services such as birth control and cancer screenings for one year.
Planned Parenthood says that Medicaid is their primary source of funding, and the legislation meant they lost out on more than $700 million annually.

Brianna Twofoot, executive director of Planned Parenthood Action Fund, said in a press release, “Patients are facing fewer options for affordable care, as dozens of Planned Parenthood health centers around the country have been forced to close and congressional Republicans continue to play politics with the health and well-being of millions of Americans who rely on Planned Parenthood health centers for care.”
With the one year deadline of the defunding provision approaching on July 4, some congressional Republicans are moving as fast as they can to implement a new ban before Planned Parenthood starts raking in federal money again, according to American Wire News.
Federal law already prohibits Medicaid from paying for most abortions, but conservatives have argued that organizations performing abortions should not receive taxpayer funding for other services, saying those services can be provided by other health care providers.
Susan B Anthony-Pro-life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser, urged GOP senators to include another defunding package measure in a third reconciliation package before the deadline hits on July 4.
Dannenfelser wrote: “Last year, on the Fourth of July, you helped accomplish something historic — the first ever defunding of Big Abortion businesses of their federal Medicaid dollars for one year. Taxpayers should never be forced to fund businesses that prey on women and unborn children and simultaneously fund hostile political interests.”
According to Breitbart, Planned Parenthood says it hopes Democrats can win back control of the House to prevent similar funding restrictions from returning.
