The truth is that the Washington establishment has always attempted to undercut President Trump’s dealmaking, and once the objective is attained, they’ve simply ignored his remarkable legacy as a President of Peace.

Understand what the objection actually is. It is not that President Trump’s terms are wrong. It is that he is willing to sit across a table from people the Beltway has decided are untouchable. Consider Syria. When Ahmed al-Sharaa emerged as Syria’s leader after Assad’s fall, the reflexive position was quarantine. Trump instead met with him, lifted sanctions to give the country a fresh start, and later hosted the first Syrian president ever to visit the White House. A man who previously carried a terrorist designation now has a stake in a stable Syria. President Trump understands that people respond to incentives, and that isolation offers none.

Finally, consider the Abraham Accords, the single most consequential Middle East breakthrough in half a century. The entire expert class held that Arab-Israeli normalization was impossible until the Palestinian question was settled. Trump simply declined to accept the veto. The UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan followed — and the framework has kept expanding since.
The President and his team are now working to prove the chattering class in Washington wrong yet again and achieve a negotiated settlement with Iran.
