Karmelo Anthony supporters heckled and harassed members of Austin Metcalf’s family as they left the Collin County Courthouse in McKinney, Texas, Tuesday evening, screeching they were “glad Austin is dead” and “you guys knew he was a racist bully.”

Anthony, 19, was convicted earlier Tuesday of first-degree murder and sentenced to 35 years in prison for the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during a confrontation at a high school track meet in April 2025.
Online footage shows the enraged mob following and harassing the Metcalf family as they walked from the courthouse to their car following the sentencing.
Because the video clearly showed their faces and identifying details of their vehicle, the victim’s family have requested that it be taken down, according to Texas-based journalist Sarah Fields on X.
Local law enforcement is reportedly aware of the harassment.
Karmelo Anthony supporters waged a short-lived protest outside the courthouse Tuesday evening, where one woman actually called for the murder of other members of the Metcalf family.
“Both of the brothers should have been dead if you ask me,” she yelled.
Other mortifying comments were also caught on video including: “If he was white, we wouldn’t even be here today. It would have never came to court. It would have never been no handcuffs. We wouldn’t be here today!”
Anthony supporters also erected a sign outside the courthouse that read: “Karmelo Anthony: As long as you don’t touch me, we cool.”
At around 8:30 p.m., a Collin County judge ordered everyone to clear the area, and soon after, deputies drove around the parking lot ordering all to leave in 15 minutes, independent journalist Nick Sortor reported on X.
“Within just 15 MINUTES of a judge ordering the Collin County Courthouse parking lot closed, Karmelo Anthony’s deranged supporters have VACATED,” Sortor later reported. “The parking lot is CLEARED. They KNOW deputies and McKinney police DO NOT PLAY.”
Deputies took at least two men into custody outside the courthouse shortly after the verdict was announced, Fox 4 reported.

Multiple black conservatives registered their disgust with their own community following the events surrounding the conviction of Karmelo Anthony.
Florida-based Pastor Jordan Wells posted a heartfelt statement on X:
“When I see protesters outside the Collin County Courthouse chanting “F-CK WHITE LIVES!” after Karmelo Anthony’s sentencing for murdering Austin Metcalf, my soul grieves,” Reverend Wells began.
This isn’t justice. This isn’t “community.” This is demonic hatred — plain and simple. All lives are made in the image of God. Every single one. Black, White, Brown — doesn’t matter.
Celebrating the loss of any innocent life, or cheering on evil because of skin color, is straight from the pit of hell.
And here’s the truth they don’t want you to say out loud: When Black conservatives, Christians, or truth-tellers like me call this out, we get labeled “traitors,” “Uncle Toms,” or “betrayers of the community.”
Let them talk.I’d rather be disliked by some in my own community than stand before a Holy God and be found guilty of excusing evil, hating my neighbor, or twisting justice for racial points.

Sports journalist and conservative political commentator Jason Whitlock wrote: “So-called ‘black culture’ teaches black people to aggressively troll white people in hopes of triggering ‘disrespect’ (aka N word or touching) that justifies violent physical conflict. ‘Black culture’ always seeks escalation of conflict, never peaceful resolution.”
Conservative activist CJ Pearson cut to the chase, stating on X, “If you want somebody who stabbed an innocent kid in the heart to get away with murder just because they have the same race as you, you’re not doing anything for the black community. It just means that something is deeply wrong with your soul.”
