Newly declassified records released Monday show that Trump-deranged former special counsel Jack Smith’s investigative team used a pen register on the phone of Trump aide Susie Wiles during the classified-documents investigation. Just the News reports that the operation, internally named “Plasmic Echo,” recorded information about calls to and from Wiles, who was then a senior Trump campaign adviser and is now White House chief of staff. The Washington Examiner independently reported from the released records that investigators tracked Wiles’s contacts with Trump attorneys, political advisers and journalists. If you recall, last week we learned that Smith et al. also spied on elected officials.
This witch hunt was approved by such unsavory and discredited characters as former Attorney General Merrick Garland, Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco and FBI Director Christopher Wray. Last week during testimony given under oath to the Senate Judiciary Committee, Smith avowed “Anybody who has worked with me and knows me during the course of my career knows that I would not let politics play a role.” By the way, here’s how Jack Smith spends his free time:

The memos also show the Smith and his operation were targeting at least 21 lawyers affiliated with Trump, campaign staff, political advisors, and five journalists from at least February to May 2023.
While it is important that this information is revealed to the public, your tax dollars paid for a decade long anti-Trump jihad, what will be done to these enemies of the state? Unless there are serious consequences, the activists and political appointees will do it again when they seize power. And they will seize power again. We have learned of the most subversive, extreme extra-constitutional methods used not only to crush Trump but to crush the will of Trump voters. Not only by trying to imprison Trump and his associates, but by trying destroy the momentum and demoralize the Trump movement. This is political warfare. This is what time it is.
