Marco Rubio Steps in to Facilitate Removal of Illegal Alien Child Rapist Pardoned by Gov. Tim Walz

The Laotian illegal alien child rapist who was pardoned by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D.) last month has been deported from the United States after Secretary of State Marco Rubio stepped in to facilitate his removal.

Tou Lue Vang, a Laotian national, was convicted in 2006 of first-degree criminal sexual conduct after repeatedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in Minnesota between 2002 and 2004.

During police interviews, Vang had attempted to justify his actions by citing cultural norms and even suggested the victim was partly at fault. He had also offered the victim $10 to remain silent. Vang pleaded guilty in a plea deal that spared him from prison. His legal status was revoked after his conviction, and a federal immigration judge issued a final order of removal in 2006.

He was finally set to be removed from the U.S. last month, but the Minnesota Board of Pardons, consisting of Governor Tim Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and Chief Justice Natalie Hudson, granted Vang a pardon, effectively clearing his criminal record.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) last month called the decision to pardon Vang “disgusting” and accused the Democrats of attempting to shield him from deportation by clearing his record of a deportable offense.

Despite the pardon, federal authorities acted to terminate Vang’s legal status and deport him from the United States. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed on Friday that Vang was removed from the country, ensuring he would no longer pose a threat to American children.

In a video statement posted on social media, Rubio reiterated how Vang had been convicted of sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl and was set to be deported right before Governor Walz issued the pardon.

“This week I revoked his legal status in the United States,” he said. “As a result, federal agents took him into custody and as of today, he has been removed from the United States. Because of our actions, this foreign criminal will never pose a threat to any American ever again.”

“Americans must never be forced by their elected leaders to live alongside foreign sex criminals, who have no right to begin with, to reside in our country. This administration will always stand with the American people and defend them from violent criminals,” the secretary concluded.
